Setting
Rosy Lane Campground sits at an elevation of 8,600 feet on the banks of the Taylor River, 17 miles from Gunnison in Taylor River Canyon. Shaded by lodgepole pine and aspen, the campground offers single-family sites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. Potable water is available on site, one site has 15-amp electric hookups, and an accessible site is offered. The river provides direct access for rafting, kayaking, and trout fishing, with Fossil Ridge Wilderness trailheads and Taylor Park Reservoir located nearby.
Getting there: From Gunnison, Colo., travel north on Colorado Highway 135 for 10 miles, to Almont. Turn right (northeast) on Taylor Canyon Road and proceed 7 miles to the campground entrance, which is on the left side of the road.
