Red Creek Group Site in CO -- Campground & RV Camping in Colorado

Red Creek Group Site is a single group campsite in Curecanti National Recreation Area designed for 9 to 20 people, with RVs over 22 feet not recommended. Surrounded by cottonwood trees, the site sits along Red Creek as it flows out of the West Elk Mountains into Blue Mesa Reservoir. The creek allows for summer wading and fishing in deeper pools. Boaters and anglers target Kokanee salmon and trout on the reservoir, while hikers can explore the 4-mile Dillon Pinnacles Trail nearby or take Red Creek Road directly into adjacent national forest lands.

Getting there: Red Creek Group campground is located off of US Hwy 50 between Gunnison and Montrose, on the north side of the highway approximately 3 1/2 miles (5.5 km) west of Elk Creek.
