Setting
Lakeview Campground sits at an elevation of 9,400 feet, positioned on a plateau above Taylor Park Reservoir in a forest of ponderosa and lodgepole pine. The location offers wide views across a sagebrush valley toward the Sawatch Mountains. Individual campsites include options with electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings, supported by vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. A public boat ramp is located directly below the campground, providing access to reservoir fishing, pontoon rentals at the marina, and nearby off-road vehicle trails.
Getting there: From Gunnison, travel north on Highway 135 for approximately 10 miles to Almont. Turn right on County Road 742 and continue 25 miles to the campground entrance, which is on the right.
