Rocky Mountain National Park Timber Creek Campground in CO -- Campground & RV Camping in Colorado

Timber Creek Campground sits at 8,900 feet along the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park, eight miles north of the Grand Lake Entrance along Trail Ridge Road. Set among mixed pine and fir trees near open meadows, the campground offers single-family tent, walk-to, and RV sites capped at a maximum vehicle length of 30 feet. Sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads. Seasonal amenities feature flush restrooms, drinking water, dishwashing sinks, and an RV dump station with freshwater fill. Nearby draws include the Colorado River, hiking trails, and the Holzwarth Historic Site.

Getting there: From Grand Lake, Colorado: Drive north on U.S. Highway 34 and enter Rocky Mountain National Park via the Grand Lake Entrance. Drive along Trail Ridge Road for 8 miles (13 km) from the park entrance and follow signs to Timber Creek Campground. The campground will be on the left. From Estes Park, Colorado: Enter Rocky Mountain National Park via the Beaver Meadows or Fall River Entrances. Follow Trail Ridge Road west for approximately 35 miles, crossing the Continental Divide. The entrance to Timber Creek Campground is located on the right side of the road.
