Setting
Located 14 miles east of Basalt, Colorado, Little Maud Campground sits at 7,800 feet on the forested shore of Ruedi Reservoir in White River National Forest. The layout features 21 standard sites for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet long, each furnished with a picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include vault toilets and drinking water, with no electrical hookups available. Visitors have access to boating, swimming, and waterskiing on the reservoir, as well as fly fishing for trout along the Fryingpan River below the dam. The eight-mile Ruedi Trail nearby climbs to the top of Red Table Mountain.
Getting there: Take I-70 west of Denver to Glenwood Springs Exit 116, Highway 82 to Basalt. At Basalt, take Frying Pan Road 15 miles to the Ruedi Complex Entrance.
