Campground details
Setting
Lone Rock Campground sits at 6,479 feet on a hillside along the South Platte River near Decker. It features open campsites with river views and ponderosa pine shade. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring on paved aprons. No RV hookups are available. On-site facilities include two vault toilets, a community drinking water hydrant, and trash collection, with firewood for sale. The river offers fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout as well as tubing. The nearby 7-mile Gill Trail leads southwest to Cheesman Dam, and limited groceries are in Decker.
Getting there: From Denver, Colorado, take Highway 285 southwest to Pine Junction, Colorado. Turn south on Jefferson County 126 and travel 28 miles. Look for signs into campground.
