Campground loop at Chatfield State Park, a 5,381-acre reservoir recreation area on the South Platte River at 5,450 feet. Gently rolling mixed-prairie terrain with 197 campsites, many with electrical and full hookups. The park centers on Chatfield Reservoir (created 1975), offering boating, water skiing, and a swim beach. Paved trails, horseback riding, and birdwatching (212+ species documented). Riparian wetlands and native grasslands attract diverse wildlife.
