Campground details
Setting
West Dolores Campground occupies 10 shaded acres at 7,800 feet under spruce, ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir along the West Dolores River. The site features 18 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, including 7 with electrical hookups, space for large RVs, a wheelchair-accessible site near the restroom, and two picnic areas. Vault toilets and a day-use parking area are provided. Visitors come to fish for trout, bike along Forest Roads 532 and 535, or access local hiking trails. Mesa Verde National Park and regional Four Corners archaeological sites are within driving distance.
Getting there: From Dolores, travel 21 miles north on Highway 145 and Forest Road 535 to the campground entrance, 1 mile from Mavreeso Campground.
