Mogote Campground sits at 8,400 feet along the Conejos River in Rio Grande National Forest, shaded by ponderosa pine, cottonwood, spruce, and aspen. Divided into two loops, its lower loop places sites directly along the riverfront, offering access to Gold Medal trout fishing. Campsites include picnic tables and campfire rings with grills, supported by vault toilets, drinking water, and trash bins, though electric hookups are absent. Nearby trailheads include the 15-mile Elk Creek Trail, and the historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad operates out of nearby Antonito.
