Mix Lake Campground in Rio Grande National Forest sits in the Conejos River drainage one mile west of Platoro at 10,000 feet elevation. The 22 campsites feature tables and fireplaces; maximum RV length is 40 feet. Three vault toilets, trash receptacles, potable water, and ample parking are provided. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, day-use costs $12 and overnight sites are $26/night. The campground provides access to fishing at Mix Lake, Platoro Reservoir, and the Conejos River, and serves as a trailhead for backpacking into South San Juan Wilderness.
