Lake Fork Campground sits at 9,500 feet along the banks of the Conejos River in Rio Grande National Forest, 40 miles northwest of Antonito, Colorado. Shaded by spruce, aspen, cottonwoods, and willows, the campground offers gravel parking spurs, with select sites directly overlooking the water. Amenities include a central drinking water spigot and firewood for sale, with no electric hookups. The nearby river provides Gold Medal trout fishing for rainbow and brown trout, and campers can access nearby trails like Lake Fork to Big Lake and Conejos Peak to Blue Lake.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 12 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

7 sit on the water -- most of them shaded. A body of water lies 0.7 mi off. Conejos Peak stands 2,433 ft above the site, 5.8 miles west. The nearest town, Monte Vista, is 26 mi off.

September normals 3661°F, 2.6″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
