Setting
Echo Lake Campground sits at 10,600 feet in a spruce forest near the shores of Echo Lake along Highway 103, right at the base of Mount Blue Sky. The grounds offer 11 RV-oriented sites and seven tent-only sites, each furnished with a picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water hand pumps, and trash service. Several trails head straight into the Mount Evans Wilderness from the campground. Nearby attractions include the historic mining town of Idaho Springs, the Argo Gold Mine and Mill Museum, Echo Lake Lodge, and Mount Evans Road.
Getting there: Take I-70 westbound, Idaho Springs exit #240 - Hwy 103. Go south 14 miles to the intersection of Hwy 103 and Hwy 5 (Mt Evans Road). Turn right on Hwy 5 then turn left to enter the campground.
