Setting
Peaceful Valley Campground sits at 8,500 feet along the Middle Saint Vrain Creek in a flat, glacial valley surrounded by mixed conifer and aspen forests. Located 24 miles south of Estes Park, Colorado, the campground features 17 sites on paved roads, including nine RV sites accommodating rigs up to 45 feet and eight tent sites. Each site provides a picnic table, fire ring, and grill, while the loop shares a drinking water hand pump, vault toilets, and trash dumpsters. Middle Saint Vrain Creek offers fly-fishing for trout. Nearby trails include Sourdough and Buchanan Pass.
Getting there: From Denver, go north on Interstate 25 to U.S. Highway 36 west. Continue on U.S. 36 through Boulder to Lyons. Take Colorado Highway 7 and go approximately 12 miles, then Colorado Highway 72 for approximately 4 miles.
