Reyes Peak Campground sits at 7,000 feet elevation along a high mountain ridge overlooking the Cuyama Badlands and the Sespe Wilderness. The site consists of six campsites along the southwest side of the ridge, surrounded by Jeffrey, sugar, ponderosa pine, and white fir. Each site includes a picnic table, barbecue grill, and fire ring, with one pit toilet on site. There is no water available. Trails leaving directly from the area include the Chorro Grande Trail, the half-mile Raspberry Spring Trail, and the 5.8-mile Reyes Peak Trail leading deeper into the wilderness.

Road difficulty 4 of 5 -- a difficult drive in. Recorded as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, dirt, pitching to 14%, 90% of it on a shelf.
