Setting
Lost Claim Campground sits at 3,100 feet in a shaded, mixed conifer forest in Stanislaus National Forest, 15 miles from the northwest entrance of Yosemite National Park. The property offers 10 tent-oriented campsites on native or gravel surface, with three sites suitable for tent trailers. Each site includes a picnic table, food storage box, and campfire ring, while vault toilets and drinking water are provided on site. Nearby recreation includes wading and trout fishing in the Tuolumne River, as well as hiking the half-mile Little Golden Forest interpretive loop.
Getting there: From Groveland, Take State Highway 120 east for 12 miles. The campground is just east of the Groveland Ranger District Office.
