Halfway Group Campground offers five tent-only group sites 4.5 miles north of Kernville in Sequoia National Forest. Located at 3,200 feet elevation, the open facility sits on canyon slopes above the Kern Wild and Scenic River, framed by gray pine, scrub oak, cottonwoods, and willows. Facilities are basic, featuring picnic tables, campfire rings, and portable toilets. There is no drinking water on-site. Popular local activities center on river rafting, kayaking, fishing, and hiking, with the 11.5-mile Cannell Meadow National Recreation Trail starting just south of the campground.
