Designated sites only

National Park Service allows overnight stays only at the designated sites here.

Located at 7,500 feet elevation near the Mineral King Ranger Station, this summer-only campground sits among aspen and conifer trees in Sequoia National Park. Reached via a steep 90-minute drive on a narrow, largely unpaved road, the site offers primitive amenities with pit toilets and no sinks or flush toilets. Trails leading to high-alpine lakes, mountain passes, and peaks start right nearby, and limited services are available 2.5 miles west at Silver City Resort.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Miners Nose stands 1,940 ft above the site, 0.7 miles southeast. East Fork Kaweah River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 40-site campground. Mostly tent-only sites -- 9 hike-in sites. The nearest town, Three Rivers, is 15 mi off.

September normals 4371°F, 0.6″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
