Cold Springs Campground in CA -- Campground & RV Camping

Located at 7,500 feet elevation near the Mineral King Ranger Station, this summer-only campground sits among aspen and conifer trees in Sequoia National Park. Reached via a steep 90-minute drive on a narrow, largely unpaved road, the site offers primitive amenities with pit toilets and no sinks or flush toilets. Trails leading to high-alpine lakes, mountain passes, and peaks start right nearby, and limited services are available 2.5 miles west at Silver City Resort.

Getting there: Cold Springs campground is located 23 miles (37 km) from Highway 198 on the Mineral King Road. It is an approximately 90 minute drive. The road is narrow, winding and steep, deeply rutted in sections, and mostly unpaved. It is not advised for longer vehicles, including trailers and other recreational vehicles. RVs and trailers are not permitted in campgrounds.
