Setting
Stoney Group Campground sits along Stoney Creek on the Stuart Fork Arm of Trinity Lake, shaded by tall trees at an elevation of 2,370 feet. Built for tent groups up to 60 people, the facility features drinking water, flush toilets, group pedestal grills, a fire ring, picnic tables, and bear-proof food lockers. Campers have direct access to the adjacent Stoney Creek Swim Area beach and picnic site, while a public boat ramp and marina sit less than a mile away for powerboating, waterskiing, and fishing for bass, trout, and catfish.
Getting there: From I-5 in Redding, California, take 299 west to Weaverville. Go north on State Highway 3 for 14 miles. The campground is on the left.
