A 4.2-mile stretch of gravel National Forest road in Trinity County, CA. The road serves Gemmil Gulch Picnic Area. The road is open seasonally, May 1 to October 30.
All 4.2 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Gravel the whole way in (4.2 miles). Climbs 1,400 ft over 4.2 miles -- sustained grades near 16%, with pitches to 30%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~150 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 10 switchbacks.
