Fir Cove Campground sits along the eastern shore of 13,800-acre Ruth Lake in the Six Rivers National Forest. Situated at an elevation of 2,700 feet, the terrain features mature Douglas fir, oak, pine, and cedar trees straddling a seasonal creek. The facility offers tent-only and combined campsites with views of the water, equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, accessible vault toilets, and drinking water. Campers have direct access to boating, water skiing, and multi-species fishing on the lake, as well as the nearby Bailey Vista and Lakeview Trailheads.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 30 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
