Southwest Walk-in Campground is located on the east side of the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center parking area in Lassen Volcanic National Park. The facility features walk-in tent sites that are open from roughly June to October after seasonal snow melts. From approximately November to May, snow covers the tent area, closing the walk-in sites and limiting overnight stays exclusively to self-contained vehicles parked in the adjacent asphalt lot.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Brokeoff Mountain stands 2,466 ft above the site, 1.5 miles northwest. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. A body of water lies 0.4 mi off. The nearest town, Shingletown, is 18 mi off.
