Setting
Gurnsey Creek Campground sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet in Lassen National Forest, set among tall conifers alongside Gurnsey Creek. The facility features two reservable group loops containing individual sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and parking spurs. Campground amenities include drinking water, a water-filling station at the entrance, and restrooms, though no hookups are available. Nearby recreation includes trout fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Lake Almanor and the southwest entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park are both located 14 miles away.
Getting there: From the town of Chester, follow Highway 36 west for about 14 miles. Gurnsey Creek Campground is located on the right side of the highway, about 2 miles past the Highway 32 turnoff.
