Setting
Hidden Horse Equestrian Campground sits at an elevation of 5,800 feet along the South Fork of the Salmon River at the southern edge of Klamath National Forest. The partially shaded site offers equestrian facilities, with campsite #6 featuring pull-through parking and four 12-foot by 12-foot iron horse corrals. Riders and hikers have direct access to three trailheads connecting to the surrounding Trinity Alps Wilderness, Russian Wilderness, and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.
Getting there: From Callahan, CA, take County Road 93 west towards Cecilville. Drive 12 miles and turn left at the sign for Hidden Horse and Carter Meadows. Hidden Horse is less than 2 miles down the road, on your left.
