Setting
Curly Jack Campground sits at 1,075 feet elevation along the Klamath River in the Klamath National Forest, across from the town of Happy Camp. The site features shaded single-family campsites and four group sites that hold up to 30 people each, many offering views of the river. Facilities include gravel parking areas for extra vehicles and boat carry-in access across a gravel bar to a Class III stretch of the Klamath River. The campground serves as a launch and take-out point for whitewater rafting, kayaking, and fishing, with local hiking trails and town amenities within walking distance.
Getting there: From CA State Highway 96 in Happy Camp, turn south on to Elk Creek Road. Drive across the river bridge then follow Elk Creek Rd approx. .5 mile to Curly Jack Rd. Turn right on to Curly Jack Rd., and drive .3 miles to campground entrance.
