Setting
Ramshorn Campground sits on the steep slopes of the North Yuba River Valley along Highway 49, west of Downieville. Surrounded by fir, cedar, oak, and blackberry bushes, the facility offers tent-only, single-family campsites split across two loops. Every site includes a picnic table and campfire ring, and vault toilets are located on site. The campground provides access to the North Yuba River for swimming, rafting, and trout fishing, as well as the 5.8-mile Halls Ranch Trail and the Rocky Rest Trailhead for the Yuba River Trail.
Getting there: From Downieville, take Highway 49 south for about 5.5 miles. The campground is on the right side of the highway. From Nevada City, take Highway 49 north for about 36 miles. The campground is on the left side of the highway.
