Setting
Lower Little Truckee Campground is located along the Little Truckee River off Highway 89, roughly 11 miles north of Truckee in Tahoe National Forest. Sitting at an elevation of 6,100 feet under a canopy of lodgepole pine, aspen, and juniper, it features single-family campsites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. Facilities include vault toilets and drinking water, with select sites looking directly out over the river. Nearby attractions include the town of Truckee ten minutes south, Lake Tahoe, Stampede Reservoir, Sardine Lakes, and local hiking, biking, and OHV trails.
Getting there: From either east bound or west bound Interstate 80 in Truckee take exit 188, Highway 89 north to Sierraville. In aproximately 11 miles turn left into the campground.
