Setting
Indian Valley Campground sits on the north bank of the North Yuba River off Highway 49, 11 miles west of Downieville. Shaded by oak, fir, pine, and madrone trees, the grounds feature scattered gold-dredging rock piles and river-view campsites. Sites include single and double-family setups with picnic tables and campfire rings; vault toilets and drinking water are available. The river provides swimming, tubing, and trout fishing. Nearby trail networks accommodate mountain biking and singletrack motorcycles, while Highway 49 connects to historic gold rush towns like Goodyears Bar.
Getting there: From Downieville, take Highway 49 south for about 11 miles. The campground is on the left side of the highway. From Nevada City, take Highway 49 north for just over 30 miles. The campground is on the right side of the highway.
