Setting
Chapman Creek Campground sits near the North Yuba River in a forest of fir and lodgepole pine. The grounds split into two loops: one bordering a small meadow and the other overlooking Chapman Creek. Campsites include picnic tables, campfire rings, and food storage lockers, with vault toilets and drinking water provided on site. The 2-mile Chapman Creek Trailhead originates inside the campground, offering connections to regional hiking networks and the Pacific Crest Trail. Sardine Lakes and the Lakes Basin area sit five miles away for trout fishing, boating, and trail use.
Getting there: From Sierra City, take Highway 49 north 8 miles. The campground is on the left side of the highway. From Sierraville, take Highway 49 south 14.8 miles. The campground is on the right side of the highway.
