Nelson Point Campground sits along the Sacramento Arm of Shasta Lake, shaded by mixed forest at an elevation of 1,067 feet. The facility operates as a group reservation site during the peak summer season and opens for walk-in camping in early spring. Campsites feature paved parking spurs, tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings, grills or stoves, and bear-proof food lockers. Vault toilets are on site, but there is no drinking water available. Boating, water skiing, and fishing are primary draws, with the nearest public boat ramp located 6 miles away at Antlers.

Getting there: From Redding, California: Take I-5 to Gilman Road/Gregory Creek Rd. Go west to Salt Creek exit, and then north to Conflict Point Road (From the north, take Salt Creek exit and then go south to Conflict Point Road). Go approximately .5 miles to the campground.
