Setting
This single-loop campground sits under a heavy canopy of oak and pine along Shasta Lake at an elevation of 1,067 feet, with Mount Shasta visible in the distance. The terrain slants down to the water, where campers swim, fish for trout and salmon, and launch boats. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, grill, and tent pad. The layout accommodates both tents and RVs, but there are no hookups or dump stations. Facilities include flush toilets and drinking water, though there are no showers. Lake Shasta Caverns and Antlers boat ramp are located nearby.
Getting there: Located adjacent to Gregory Beach dispersed area along the Upper Sacramento River Arm of Shasta Lake, 15 miles northeast of I-5 on Gilman Road. From I-5, take exit 698 Salt Creek/Gilman Road. Turn left at end of off ramp and follow Salt Creek Road (also known as Gregory Creek Road) for 4 miles.
