Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park's 107-site campground spreads through shaded pine and oak forest near Felton in the San Lorenzo River watershed. The park centers on a 40-acre old-growth redwood grove where ancient trees reach 300 feet tall and exceed 1,400 years old. Over 15 miles of trails wind through diverse habitats from redwood to chaparral and rare Santa Cruz Sandhills vegetation. The adjacent Roaring Camp and Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad, historic creek systems, and year-round visitor center support hiking, fishing, and nature study.
