Scorpion Canyon Campground sits in a valley on the eastern side of Santa Cruz Island in Channel Islands National Park. The facility features 25 individual primitive campsites and six group sites, each equipped with a picnic table and a food storage box, alongside shared pit toilets and drinking water. Located a half-mile to one-mile flat hike from the boat pier, the campground offers direct access to a beach of sand and cobble facing the Santa Barbara Channel. Nearby trails lead to historic ranching structures, Cavern Point, and Smugglers Cove.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
The coast lies 0.3 mi off. Private here -- no through road within 3.7 miles, a 31-site campground. Mostly tent-only sites -- 31 hike-in sites, 31 sit on the water. The nearest town, Channel Islands Beach, is 21 mi off.
