San Miguel Island Campground sits on an elevated plateau on the westernmost island of Channel Islands National Park. The facility consists of nine primitive campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, a five-foot windbreak, and a food storage box, with pit toilets available on-site. Campers must carry all food, equipment, and drinking water up a steep one-mile trail from the Cuyler Harbor boat landing or a quarter-mile from the airstrip. The site overlooks 27 miles of coastline, with trails leading to Cuyler Harbor beach, the island ranger station, and Point Bennett.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Private here -- no through road within 3.7 miles, a 19-site campground. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. Mostly tent-only sites -- 10 hike-in sites, 10 sit on the water. The coast lies 0.4 mi off. The nearest town, Isla Vista, is 38 mi off.

September normals 5562°F, 0.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
