Setting
Sage Hill Campground sits on a flat, oak-shaded parcel in the Santa Ynez Mountains near the Santa Ynez River, seven miles east of Cachuma Lake. Designed for groups, the facility accommodates up to 50 people per site, with an equestrian group site offering 12 corrals, a hitching post, and a large parking area for horse trailers. Facilities include flush toilets, drinking water, and paved roads, though there are no hookups on site. The Aliso Canyon Trail starts at the back of the campground, connecting to the Santa Cruz Trail, with fishing along the nearby river for carp and catfish.
Getting there: From highway 101, take highway 154 approximately 15 miles to paradise road. Turn right and continue 5 miles to Los Prietos road. Turn left past the ranger station to the camp entrance.
