Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area offers primitive beach and dune camping on the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes, California's only state park where vehicles can legally drive on the beach. Campsites are undesignated; campers access the sandy dunes and beaches via 4-wheel drive. Facilities are minimal—vault and chemical toilets plus a fee-based dump station. The area is popular for beach camping, swimming, surfing, surf fishing, and off-road vehicle recreation amidst the expansive coastal sand dunes.
