Setting
Aquatic Park Cove provides an urban sailboat anchorage inside San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, sheltered by Municipal and Hyde Street Piers. Overnight visitors stay aboard their own sailing vessels—powerboats are prohibited—and make soft sand beach landings by dinghy, securing craft to designated wooden pilings. Onshore amenities include public restrooms, outdoor showers, and grassy park space overlooking Alcatraz Island. The cove is a hub for open-water swimming, rowing, and kayaking right at the edge of the city.
Getting there: San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is located within the city limits of San Francisco, in the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, on the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. Aquatic Cove overnight stays are off shore, accessible only by non-motorized watercraft.
