Setting
Oak Grove Campground sits in a valley of live oaks, ribbonwood, chamise, and manzanita within the Palomar Ranger District. The campground is split into two loops, Oak and Ribbonwood, offering campsites with picnic tables and grills. Facilities include drinking water, vault toilets on the Oak loop, and flush toilets on the Ribbonwood loop. Located across Highway 79, the 1.5-mile Oak Grove Trail connects to the Oak Grove Truck Trail toward High Point Lookout, with the Agua Tibia Wilderness, Palomar State Park, and Palomar Observatory located nearby.
Getting there: From Interstate 15 take the 79 East. The campground is on the north side of the highway, across from the fire station. From Temecula, take State Rt. 79 south 24.1 miles and turn left at campground sign.
