Setting
Skyline Group Campground is a single large-group site set among pines in the mountains at 6,880 feet, about 20 miles from Big Bear Lake. Built for up to 25 people and nine vehicles, the paved facility includes a parking area, picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. Nearby mountain streams offer creek fishing, and local trailheads lead into the surrounding backcountry. Wildhorse Creek Trail climbs 1,100 feet over five miles, the Santa Ana River Trail offers extensive mountain views, and the adjacent Aspen Grove Trail leads to Fish Creek.
Getting there: From San Bernardino, travel on I-10, to the Alabama exit in the City of Redlands. Turn onto Lugonia Avenue (Highway 38) and head northeast for approximately 31 miles. Turn onto Forest Route IN02 and continue less than a mile to Heart Bar Campground. Skyline is located at the back.
