Mid Hills Campground is situated at an elevation of 5,600 feet in Mojave National Preserve. Following the 2005 Hackberry Fire, about half of the campsites remain shaded by pinyon pine and juniper trees. Individual sites feature 1 to 2 vehicle parking spots, a tent pad, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Vault toilets are located around the grounds, but no drinking water or hookups are provided. The elevated terrain connects to broad desert landscapes, with nearby preserve hiking options including the Barber Peak loop, the Rings Loop trail, Kelso Dunes, and Teutonia Peak.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 26-site campground. The nearest town, Laughlin, is 46 mi off.

September normals 5781°F, 0.7″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
