Black Rock Campground sits at an elevation of 4,000 feet within a dense Joshua tree forest on the northern edge of Joshua Tree National Park. The facility features 99 individual campsites suitable for tents and RVs, offering a mix of sun and shade. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, and an RV dump station, though no hookups are available. Hiking trails leave directly from the campground, and rock climbing routes sit within a 30-minute drive. Additional services such as showers and laundry are available five miles away in Yucca Valley.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 10 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit.

Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.3 miles off, a 99-site campground. Black Rock Spring lies 1.1 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Yucca Valley, is 4.0 mi off.
