Setting
Applewhite Campground offers tree-shaded sites 3 miles north of the Lytle Creek Ranger Station. Tailored primarily for tent camping with narrow paved parking aprons, it can also accommodate smaller RVs without hookups. Campsites feature picnic tables and fire rings with grills, supported by accessible flush toilets and drinking water spigots. Lytle Creek flows directly across the road at the Applewhite Picnic Area, giving visitors a place to wade and relax. Short day hikes run through the Lytle Creek area, and off-highway vehicle riding is available in nearby Cajon Pass.
Getting there: Continue 3 miles past the Lytle Creek Ranger Station. Campground is on the right with Upper Loop campsites on the left and Lower Loop Campsites on the right.
