Setting
Sheep Pass Group Campground sits at 4,500 feet elevation in Joshua Tree National Park, surrounded by massive granite rock formations and Joshua trees. Designed for group camping, the facility offers six group-only sites with a mix of sun and shade. No electrical hookups or drinking water are provided on site. Located centrally in the park, the campground sits directly adjacent to rock climbing routes and hiking trails. Wildlife such as desert lizards, coyotes, ravens, and rattlesnakes inhabit the surrounding desert landscape.
Getting there: Take Interstate 10 to Route 62. From the town of Joshua Tree turn south on Park Blvd. and continue through the West Entrance. The campground is 13 miles from the entrance station and the city of Twentynine Palms.
