Red Feather Campground sits at 5,100 feet in the Northern Sierra Nevada on the eastern shore of the 1,615-acre Little Grass Valley Reservoir. Shaded by thick stands of pine and fir, the facility features dozens of single-family campsites with paved parking spurs, picnic tables, and campfire rings. Flush toilets and drinking water are available, though there are no utility hookups. The 13.5-mile Lakeshore Trail runs right past the campground for hiking and mountain biking, while the nearby Maidu boat launch provides direct water access for fishing, swimming, and boating.
