Horse Camp is an equestrian facility on the eastern shore of Little Grass Valley Reservoir at 5,060 feet elevation, set among pine and fir in the Northern Sierra Nevada. It features 10 single-family tent and RV sites with gravel parking, tables, fire rings with grills, lantern posts, and hitching posts. Hookups are not available. Accessible vault toilets are on-site. Visitors can swim, water ski, and fish the 1,615-acre lake for trout and kokanee salmon, or ride the 14.5-mile Lakeshore Trail, which links to the Pacific Crest Trail.

Getting there: From Oroville, California, travel east on Oro Dam Boulevard to Highway 162/Olive Highway. Continue on Highway 162/Olive Highway for 5 miles to Forbestown Road. Turn right and go 16 miles to La Porte Road. Turn left and travel 27 miles to La Porte, then 2 miles to signs for the recreation area. Turn right and continue just over 3 miles to the campground.
