Setting
Grasshopper Flat Campground sits at 5,886 feet elevation in the pine-covered hills above Lake Davis, offering sweeping views of the water. The facility features single-family tent and RV sites with paved parking pads, as well as one large group site. Each spot includes a table, fire ring, and grill. On-site amenities during peak season include drinking water, flush toilets, coin-operated showers, and trash service. A boat ramp and RV dump station sit nearby, and the 7-mile Lake Davis Trailhead is less than half a mile away.
Getting there: From Reno, travel north on Highway 395 to Highway 70 and turn west to Portola. From Portola, take County road 126 north for seven miles, then County road 112 to the east side of Lake Davis. It is approximately one mile to the campground.
