Falcon Group Campground sits at 3,300 feet in a mixed forest and chaparral terrain within the Santa Ana Mountains, just off the Ortega Highway. The facility features three distinct group sites—Lupine, Sage, and Yarrow—accommodating 30 to 70 people each with dedicated parking. Campers have direct access to the 1.4-mile Falcon Trail and the 6.8-mile Trabuco Canyon Trail into the backcountry. The adjacent Blue Jay Campground hosts the trailhead for the steep San Juan Trail, a route popular with mountain bikers.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Los Pinos Peak stands 1,201 ft above the site, 0.9 miles northwest. Night skies measure Bortle 4 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. A group campground -- most of them shaded. Los Pinos Spring lies 0.5 mi off. The nearest town, Lakeland Village, is 5.2 mi off.

September normals 6188°F, 0.2″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
