In the Sierra Nevada near Truckee, this 3,549-acre park marks the historical 1846–47 Donner Party encampment. Sites 93 and 95 are bike/walk-in only in the Creek loop section. Facilities include a modern visitor center, flush toilets, and pay showers. Donner Lake provides 1.7 miles of shoreline with beach access at China Cove; 18.5 miles of trails traverse meadows and forest. The iconic 22-foot Pioneer Monument and cabin sites tell the park's tragic history.
