White Oaks Campground is an eight-site loop set in oak woodlands and pine forest within the Santa Lucia Mountain range, off Tassajara Road. The center of the campsite loop features a large berry bush surrounded by native shrubbery. Designed mainly for tent campers, the layout can accommodate RVs up to 20 feet. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and the facility provides two vault toilets. There is no potable water on site. Located 2.7 miles from the Pine Ridge Trailhead at China Camp, the area offers access to 23 miles of wilderness hiking trails.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 14 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Chews Ridge stands 1,068 ft above the site, 1.1 miles south. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, an 8-site campground. 8 sit on the water -- most of them shaded. Cahoon Spring lies 0.9 mi off. The nearest town, Carmel Valley Village, is 14 mi off.

September normals 5579°F, 0.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
