Setting
Reversed Creek Campground sits at 7,600 feet in a mature aspen grove along the June Lake Loop, surrounded by 11,000-to-12,000-foot peaks. The layout features well-spaced, private campsites along a loop road, with spurs accommodating vehicles up to 30 feet. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, and bear-proof food storage lockers. Gull Lake sits across from the entrance, while nearby June Lake provides a boat ramp and marina. Hikers can reach the Ansel Adams Wilderness, Mono Creek, and local routes like the Sherwin Lakes and Gaylor Lake trails.
Getting there: Reversed Creek Campground is about 350 miles north of Los Angeles and 150 miles south of Reno, Nevada. Take U.S. Highway 395 to its southern junction with Highway 158. Take 158 for 2.3 miles to June Lake, then continue 0.4 mile to the campground sign. Turn left and drive 0.1 mile to the campground.
