Setting
Palisades Group Campground sits at an elevation of 8,800 feet in Rock Creek Canyon, shaded by aspen and lodgepole pine trees. Designed for groups of up to 25 people, the single private loop provides five picnic tables, campfire rings, and access to nearby Rock Creek. The surrounding eastern Sierra landscape offers stream fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout, alongside hiking trails that wind around high-alpine lakes. The site is located near Mammoth Lakes and Bishop.
Getting there: From U.S. Highway 395, take the Tom's Place exit, 13 miles south of Mammoth Lakes or 30 miles north of Bishop. Turn left on Rock Creek Road and follow for about 6 miles to Palisades Group Campground on the right.
